Past Pitch Party
On September 25, 2024, Western Carolina University (WCU) College of Business, in collaboration with Hatch Innovation and the Sylva Main Street Association, hosted a dynamic pitch party at Mad Batter/Lazy Hiker Brewing in downtown Sylva. This public open mic night offered aspiring entrepreneurs— both students and community members—the chance to present their innovative ideas to a live audience. Three students from WCU and three community members took part in the pitch event.

Participants received constructive feedback and encouragement, fostering a spirit of innovation and collaboration. Ultimately, the event celebrated student and local talent while strengthening connections within the entrepreneurial community in the region.
A heartfelt thank you to Bernadette Peters from the Sylva Main Street Association, as well as Jay Mixter, Mike Baer, and Isaac Dunn from Hatch Innovation, for their crucial contributions to the success of this event!
